Moving into the Top Ten this year (displacing Northwestern University, which ranked at # 7 a year ago but fell off the list this year), Cornell has a number of research programs aimed at advancing manufacturing, including the Cornell Center for Materials Research (CCMR) and the Cornell Nanoscale Science & Technology Facility. In September 2017 the school formally dedicated its new Cornell Tech campus, where student researchers will team up with industry to develop and prototype new products and technologies.
